A biography of fifty years of naval service. Schroeder served with Commodore John Rodgers on the 1871 Korean expedition, commanded the battleship Virginia, and later Louisiana during the world cruise of the Great White Fleet. He commanded the Atlantic Fleet from 1906 until his retirement in 1911.
