Twelvemo, ix, 498pp. Original green leather binding, title in gilt on cover, along with “Gerald R. Ford, Jr.” Housed in custom black leather clamshell case.
Signed by Gerald R. Ford on front pastedown, with the following inscription in blue ink: “Gerald R. Ford Jr. / 321 House Office Bldg / Washington, D.C.”
Book has obviously been used, with wear to corers and wear to individual sections. A unique piece of history from a future President of the United States.
This copy of Cannon’s Procedure is from Gerald R. Ford’s first term in the House of Representatives, as the representative from Michigan’s 5th Congressional District. He would go on to serve on the House Appropriations Committee and the Defense Appropriations Committee, eventually being named the House Minority Leader. He resigned from the House of Representatives in 1973 to become Richard Nixon’s Vice President.
