Description
Lindley Murray’s English Grammar Adapted to the Different Classes of Learners, published in Windsor, Vermont in 1833.
Sixteenmo, 228pp. Period leather binding, title in gilt over black leather spine label, gilt-ruled bands on spine. Extremities rubbed and worn, but binding is sound. Chipping to tips of spine. Toning to endpapers, mild foxing to text pages, some dog-eared pages from handling. Previous owner’s name on front flyleaf, appears to be Elihu Burritt, the nineteenth century social activist referred to as the “Learned Blacksmith.” A nice copy of this popular English grammar book.
