Program for the Diamond Jubilee Birthday Celebration of former President Harry S. Truman, inscribed on the front cover. The event was held at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City, on May 8th, 1959.
Octavo, [8pp], [1 laid-in supplement]. Printed on thick cardstock, deckled edges, embossed illustration of President Truman on cover in gold. Bound at the spine with staples. Full program measures 8.5″ x 11″. Inscribed on the front cover: “To Hon. Robert M. Moore, always on the job! Harry Truman.”
Robert M. Moore worked for the Democratic National Committee, serving as Assistant to the Chairman, Mr. William M. Boyle. Mr. Moore was a lifelong acquaintance of Harry Truman, being raised in Missouri and a member of the Missouri Democratic delegation. He died unexpectedly in 1964.
