The official report of the Warren Commission was published in 1964, with the Government Printing Office releasing the findings in a 27 Volume Set. It was condensed for publication by the New York Times and the Associated Press, who released their own summary publications. Gerald R. Ford, who was personally requested to be a member of the Warren Commission by President Lyndon Johnson, spent the rest of his life defending the integrity of the commission.
