This work by Lieut. Colonel Joshua Hudson details the operations of the 26th South Carolina Infantry during the American Civil War. It contains a valuable account of the “Battle of the Crater,” during the siege of Petersburg. One of the few accounts by a Confederate eyewitness and participant in the short battle.
