The Savoy Operas feature some of Gilbert’s most popular works, frequently in collaboration with composer Arthur Sullivan. A primary highlight from this copy is The Mikado, which is one of the most frequently performed theatre pieces of all time. Within the first year it opened (1885), it was estimated that at least 150 companies were producing the opera throughout Europe and America.
