First published in 1912, this new edition of The Sea & The Jungle contains a new foreword by the author as well as 18 woodcut illustrations by Clare Leighton. A British-American artist, writer and illustrator, Clare Leighton (1898-1989) was best known for her wood engravings, which can be found in numerous books, including Thomas Hardy’s The Return of the Native (1929) and Thornton Wilder’s The Bridge of San Luis Rey (1929).
